I love a good monthly beauty subscription box. It’s like a present to yourself each month. I get to try products from the beauty and skincare world that I have always wanted to try but couldn’t afford and discover new brands and products that have become heroes of mine that I would never have the chance to know about before.

Birchbox is one of my favourites. Its super affordable at a tenner a month (plus £3.95 for postage and packaging) and you get 5 products; some full size and some samples. You get to fill an online profile in before hand detailing what you do or don’t like, eye colour, skin type etc so that the boxes can be tailored to your needs. The site has a shop too so you can buy full sizes of the products you love and you get points which go towards products or your next box!

Anyhow let’s get into my thoughts on the products in this months box!

Number 4 Jour d’automne Sugar Texturising Spray (£20 for 145ml)

I’ve tried a few products from this brand before and I have to admit the times I have tried them they have come from a Birchbox. I love a good texturising spray as I have the straightest, finest hair ever. This spray smelled really sweet, obvs its a sugar spray. I gathered the product would be quite sticky and I found it was actually too sticky for my taste. I have to say I do prefer a salt spray over a sugar spray. Although this did leave me with some waves I do prefer the results I get from other brands I’ve tried.

Spectrum A05 Small Angled Blush Brush  (£6.99)

I love Spectrum brushes. They are of great quality, so soft, easy to clean and do a really good job. This didn’t disappoint. Picked up a brilliant amount of product, blended the product out perfectly. This brush also didn’t shed when washing which is also a bonus for me. I love the blue colour too and look forward to grabbing myself some more of these brushes.

Loc One & Done Shadow Stick – Out Of Your Shell (£8.00 for 1.35g)

I really liked this product. It felt really creamy and non-drying on my lid but blended out like a dream. I used it as a base colour and it made the colours I used over it look really vibrant. I also found this really good and easy to use on the brown bone to highlight my brows.

Nuxe Hulle Prodigieuses Or – Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Face, Body , Hair (£20 for 50ml)

The smell of this product is gorgeous! I loved using this product on a night out. It was great as a highlighter on my face and collar bone, and I loved using it on my hair to make it look shiny. Although it’s a dry oil it still feels really luxurious and silky. A little also goes a long way so I didn’t need to use a lot to make an impact.

Whish Renewing Mud Mask (£29 for 60ml)

Oh dear lord this mask! My skin felt absolutely amazing after using this mask. Although the smell wasn’t great (to be fair it’s a mud mask I don’t know why I was expecting it to smell nice). This mask really helped me to clean up my acne, didn’t dry out my skin, and left my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. I raced to check out the price of the full size and at £29 it’s a tad eye watering for a mask. However, a little went a long way and I got three goes out of the sample so using this once a week and with the results I got would justify the price. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway.

I really enjoyed trying out the products from this month’s box and can’t wait to try out the September box especially as it is a collab with Oliver Bonas!
