If you’ve seen my Birchbox review – August 2017, then you’ll know I love a good beauty subscription box. The Glossybox subscription box is very similar to the Birchbox service but I have found that I get some different products to try in this one. I really couldn’t pick between the two when I was first subscribing and at ten pounds each I thought why not just get both. That way I get 10 products to try for £20 (£3.95 also for postage and packaging).
So let’s get into the August review!
Purelei ‘Aloha’ Bracelet (£11.90)
I really love the look of this hair tie. I was expecting it to be quite flimsy and hard to use but its actually quite sturdy and stretchy and looked really nice in my hair.
Valquer Ice Hair Mask, Total Repair (14.99 for 300ml)
I absolutely love this mask. Discoveries like this shows how subscription beauty boxes are worth it. I would probably have not come across this normally so receiving this as a sample has done me a real favour. This totally changed my hair health and in all the right ways. My hair felt stronger, looked shinier, was easier to brush and style, and smelled amazing. It had a cooling effect on the hair and worked in around 5-10 minutes. It was a really easy part of my routine and in actual fact I used this at the same time as doing a face mask. I will definitely go on to repurchase this!
Batiste Instant Hair Refresh – Invisible Dry Shampoo & Conditioner (£4.49 for 200ml)
Getting a sample size of this was brilliant as it perfectly inside my handbag so was great for on the go use. I didn’t get the nasty powder leftover in my hair so it lived up to it’s ‘invisible’ description. I really hate having that leftover residue, I don’t want people to know I’ve had to use dry shampoo. It gave me a good bit of volume to my hair so its brilliant for a bad hair day.
Model Launcher Safari Sun Bronzer (£21.00 for 10g)
I didn’t get on well with this product. I generally don’t like shimmery brozers and this product didn’t exactly change my mind. I found it quite chunky and gave me a sheen in a way that wasn’t complimentary.
Rodial Suede Lips – Big Apple (£22 for 24g)
I liked this lip crayon. It was easy to use as a lip liner and really creamy. The colour is perfect for the upcoming Autumn season. It was matte but not in a drying way. However I don’t think I will purchase as I have found more budget friendly options that do a similar if not better job.
I really liked the August Glossybox. I found a wonder product with the hair mask, was really glad I got to try the dry shampoo (definitely a repurchase) and really enjoyed trying a new Rodial product especially as lip crayons are getting quite popular. Roll on September!
